Role overview

The local consultant will develop instruments to conduct data collection and collect, collate and complete a report on the Core Skills programme after a year. The Consultant is responsible for gathering all the needed data and information to develop the monitoring and evaluation report.

Description of work

  • Distribute and collate the results of the progress survey to teachers and schools who were previously engaged in Phase 1 evaluation
  • Identify schools from the pool that completed Phase 1 to conduct classroom observations to assess the use of Core Skills among teachers and students in the classroom
  • Select and conduct classroom observation for a control group of teachers
  • Select participants and conduct  focus group survey with teachers and school leaders within the schools observed
  • Develop the appropriate instruments for data collection and reporting as provided in the M & E framework
  • Work with the British Council to perform a lessons-learned exercise to identify further explanations that will enrich the evaluation of the programme
  • Complete analysis and compile report to be presented to the British Council
  • Work with the British Council team to obtain the necessary consent needed to undertake evaluation exercise
