In September 2015 the British Council Education team will be conducting a study on skills and skills research in relation to TVOC/TVET and STEM principles. The team is currently researching the level of skills being offered, the types of skills being trained, and the demand for skills that are present in the Jamaica. Through this research, we will attempt to present the current landscape of skills in relation to employment and explore the changes being made to keep people competitive in an ever changing economy.

British Council Jamaica, in keeping with its current strategy and purpose of a commitment to fostering cultural partnerships through education and training, will be conducting research to explore the level of skills being offered, the types of skills being trained, and the demand for skills that are present in the country. The aim of this research is to gauge the level of skills available in the country presently and where it is moving towards in relation to the changing demands of the work place. During the period of September 1, 2015 – September 20, 2015, we will be conducting first level research (Questionnaires and Interviews).
