In the Caribbean, the British Council has offices in Cuba, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago where we offer people unique experiences through participation in the arts by fostering collaboration and networks. We aim to create reciprocal opportunities by finding new ways to connect with and understand each other, and through building capacity, collaborating, and sharing the best of UK arts. The Caribbean is the epicentre of the Americas and is where Europe’s involvement with what is called the “New World” began. Relationships between the four nations of the UK and the Caribbean are deep, intense and complex. We believe that a direct experience of the arts contributes to the development of societies, which strengthens cultural relations and offers opportunities to explore and understand these associations while promoting new conversations.
