IELTS Cuba: Test dates, fees and locations

When you register for your test, you will need to enter a valid identification number (carnet, identity card or passport). Please make sure your document is valid at the time of registration and on your test day.

If you are a minor, you must be registered with a valid passport. The registration must be in your name, documents of your parents or legal guardians will not be accepted. And you must complete and sign the IELTS Minor Consent Form and Consent form for children to leave the premises alone at the end of the test.

The IELTS test is not recommended for children under 16 years of age.

Once you have completed your registration, you will have up to seven working days to make the payment, otherwise your booking will be cancelled (if it is the closing registration day you must make the payment immediately). 

Payments must be made directly at the British Council office: Ave 7ma, esquina 34 Miramar, Playa, Havana, Cuba.

Office hours for payment processing are: Tuesday from 9:00 to 12:00.

It is important to keep in mind that:

• Payments can only be made in cash using USD.
• No written or damaged notes will be accepted.
• Cash payment should be made for the exact amount (we cannot provide change)
• Payments can be made by the test taker or a third party. 
• If the payment is made by a third party the test taker is responsible for fake or damaged notes and will be banned from taking the test or might not receive a Test Report Form (TRF).
• Payments through local banks or Transfermovil are currently not available.
• If eight (8) days before your test date you have not made the payment, your booking will be cancelled and you will need to re-register to the same test date (if spaces are available) or on a new date. Payment without registration does not guarantee you a place on the test date you choose.
• In your registration, please do not use emails with the @nauta.cu domain.
• Two to three days before your exam date, we will email you more details about the test venue and instructions for admission.

Once you have made the payment, you will need to send your receipt at the following e-mail: MX.exams@britishcouncil.org. As payments are not automatically recorded, it is your responsibility to send it to us to complete your registration.

After you register and your payment is approved you will receive:

• An automatic email with your access to the free online preparation resources IELTS Ready: Premium.
• Your reference number to access the IELTS Test Taker Portal.
• An email confirming the start time of the two parts of the test (written and oral), as well as the address of the place where you will take your test. This will be sent on the second working day after the closing date for registration.

You will take your speaking test from one to seven days before or after the written test. You will be notified in advance of the date and time of the speaking test. In special cases you can request to take the test on the same day as the written test.
